Junior Section let loose at Hindleap Warren

Our boys and girls turn out in record numbers for a fun filled weekend ...

From 15 - 17 June 2012, you could hear a loud noise coming from the depths of Ashdown Forest.

The reason why? About 100 people from the West Kent Boys Brigade & Girls Association, consisting of young people & staff, had descended on Hindleap Warren for a weekend of fun, activities and fellowship.

Friday night was making up their beds and unpacking. Some children really should practice putting a duvet cover on!! Then came the eagerly awaited burger and chips followed by the England game. After their win, we settled down to devotions and bed. However, it took a long, long time for sleep to arrive.

Up early next morning, the young people took part in activities such as High Ropes, Canoeing in a swimming pool, Team Exercises and going down extremely muddy and dark tunnels.

The Year 6 children were treated to Canoeing on a lake and Archery off site.

Saturday evening consisted of swimming or playing football and buying sweets and little souvenirs from the tuck shop. Apparently, there were to be many midnight feasts that night after buying various amounts of chocolate, but the children were so tired that they fell asleep and the tuck went home with them!!

Sunday was more activities in the morning and after, farewell devotions, we scoured the premises for forgotten clothes and footwear and got in our respective vehicles home.

This is a very brief overview of the weekend, but I can positively say that the young people and adults thoroughly enjoyed it. I would like to say a huge thank-you to the staff at Hindleap who accommodated all our needs and to the instructors who were patient and kind to their particular groups.

Thank-you also to the BB staff that gave up their own time to come along with their companies. We, too, were able to have a time of devotions and fellowship amongst each other. And make new friends with those who hadn't been before.

But most all, thank-you to God for watching over us all the time we were there, for travelling mercies, for bringing us lovely weather and for not having any major issues.

Roll on Hindleap 2013!!
